Situated on the desirable sunny Menaggio hillside on the western shore of Lake Como this modern detached family villa is located in a well maintained small residential enclave and benefits from family friendly living over three floors which total over 230sqm, and which also benefits from an off street driveway and beautiful private garden. Guests reach the villa’s entrance along a pretty portico terrace adorned by plants in the charming natural garden, and once inside are greeted by a beautiful and homely open plan living room, which boasts high wooden beamed ceilings and a very comfortable and high quality finish with neutral crème sofas, solid wood furniture and homely accessories. A charming feature point of the room is a large wood burning stove which creates a wonderful atmosphere in the colder months. Firewood can be supplied in advance to your stay so please mention this optional provision when booking. A large 32” flat screen TV broadcasting Sky Italia, some British national and regional channels and a DVD player with a DVD collection, as well as a HIFI player with a varied CD collection also feature in the living room and a lovely stylish dining area lends itself to dinner parties. From the open plan room guests can access through the French doors to a lake view terrace, which catches the sun from the morning - mid afternoon and provides another venue for fabulous dinner parties, with a BBQ and comfortable alfresco dining area provided. The views are idyllic and feature the ake and surrounding mountainside. Inside once more and adjacent to the lovely dining area, is a modernist style fully fitted kitchen with breakfast table and featuring a gas hob, eye-level oven, fridge freezer and all the desired appliances for a self-catering holiday. Also to the ground floor are two spacious and well lit double bedrooms and a modern shower room with laundry facilities. A flight of stairs leads to a basement level with a third double bedroom which although windowless offers a high standard of accommodation and also a bathroom. Back up to the beautiful ground floor living room and a flight of stairs leads to an open mansard level and featuring a pair of twin single beds ideal for children. All the bedrooms are beautifully and tastefully decorated and furnished with added luxuries such as air-conditioning which can be used in the villa’s principal rooms. Two of the four bedrooms are also equipped with flat screen TVs. The fourth bathroom is situated downstairs in the villa and boasts luxury fixtures and fittings including a Jacuzzi whirlpool bath. Several parking can be found in the private road leading to the Villa. From the residential enclave, guests can easily reach Menaggio town centre by car, passing the charming village of Loveno which offers a local Pizzeria, tea room, a nature reserve ideal for cycling and walking and also offering professional tennis courts. The world famous Menaggio & Cadenabbia Golf Club is also situated just a 5 minutes drive away. Menaggio is a picturesque lakefront town, famous as being one Lake Como’s Golden Triangle towns and offering a wide choice of amenities from supermarkets, cafes and restaurants to boutique shops and delicatessens. A beautiful promenade leads to mini Golf and a newly restored family Lido with swimming pools, sandy beach, pizzeria, volley-ball, a children’s park and lakefront cocktail bar. Local restaurants to try in the area include the Country style Agro-turismo of La Barcola, the town’s family friendly Red Bay and Griante’s Villa Linda, the romantic and contemporary Italian Crotto dei Platani in Brienno and the modern La Piazzetta in Argegno. For a local fish menu Paolo Restaurant in Menaggio and La Baia in Cremia are very good. From Menaggio guests can also enjoy local activities including golf, trekking, cycling, sailing, tennis, horse riding, chartered yacht hire and water sports. The transport links are very good with a frequent Lake Bus service to Lake Como and Lugano, a car and passenger Ferry service, a local taxi rank and a seasonal Bergamo airport shuttle bus operating from Menaggio.
